DAY 1: TEL AVIV – CARMEL – TIBERIAS

Upon arrival in Tel Aviv we are met by our guide and make our way north to Mt. Carmel and the Chapel of Stella Mares (Star of the Sea), We arrive in Tiberius for dinner and the evening.

 

DAY 2: TIBERIAS: CAPERNAUM AND SEA OF GALILEE SITES

Breakfast at hotel: This morning we begin with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. We will visit a replica of a fishing boat from the time of Christ. Our visit continues with Capernaum, the Heptagon (Peter’s Primacy), followed by a visit to Tabgha. We ascend by motor coach to the Mt. of Beatitudes to gain a panoramic vista of the Sea of Galilee. We continue to the Baptismal Site at the Jordan River to renew our baptismal vows, then a visit to Bethsaida. We return to Tiberius for dinner and the evening.

 

DAY 3: TIBERIAS: NAZARETH, CANA & MT. TABOR

Breakfast at hotel: We make our way to Nazareth where we visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, then continue to St. Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well. Then to Cana, site of Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding feast. Here we invite couples to renew their wedding vows. Our next stop is the site of the Transfiguration at Mt. Tabor. We return to Tiberius for dinner and the evening.

 

DAY 04: JERUSALEM: JERICHO,  QUMRAN,  DEAD SEA  & JORDAN RIVER

Breakfast at hotel: This morning we move to Jericho to view the Mt. of Temptations from a distance and to see the traditional Zaccheus site. This city was the site of Joshua’s first dramatic conquest. From a distance, we view the Mt. of Temptation, now home to a Greek Orthodox Monastery. Our next stop is Qumran, site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We stop to view the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Then, stopping at the Jordan River baptismal site. After, we visit Jericho to view the Mt. of Temptations from a distance, now home to a Greek Orthodox Monastery. This city of Jericho was the site of Joshua’s first dramatic conquest. We view Wad Qelt – at the mouth of this gorge are the ruins of the New Testament Jericho. Then Back and Dinner is at our hotel in Bethlehem.

 

DAY 05: JERUSALEM:  OLD CITY, MOUNT OF OLIVES  & MT. ZION

Breakfast at hotel:  We begin today entering through Stephen’s Gate, with a visit to the Church of St. Anne, marking the place of birth of the Blessed Mother, visiting as well the nearby Pools of Bethesda. We proceed to the Chapel of the Flagellation (where Our Lord was scourged), then carry the cross as we follow the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross). After the Stations, we return to the Ecce Homo Arch and Lithostrotos. We ride to Mt. Scopus and to the Mt. of Olives, where we gain a panoramic view of the old City of Jerusalem. We visit the Ascension Mosque, Pater Noster (commemorating the “Our Father”), Dominus Flavit (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem), and the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane. After lunch on our own, we continue onto the Church of St. Peter in Gallicanctu (where Peter denied Christ), the House of Caiphas, the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady, and the Upper Room, commemorating the Last Supper. Then Back and Dinner is at our hotel in Bethlehem.

 

DAY 06: JERUSALEM , HOLY SEPULCHRE,  EIN KAREM & VISITATION

Breakfast at hotel : We begin this morning at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We stop in Ein Karem where we visit the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation. The balance of the day is at leisure to browse in the local markets Then Back and Dinner is at our hotel in Bethlehem.

 

DAY 7: BETHLEHEM

Breakfast at hotel: Today we make our Tour in Bethlehem, visiting first Shepherds’ Field, followed by the Church of the Nativity, St. Jerome’s Chapel, and St. Catherine’s Church. We will allow extra time for shopping in Bethlehem Then Back and Dinner is at our hotel in Bethlehem.

 

DAY 8: BETHLEHEM, AMMAN

Breakfast at hotel: We proceed across the border to Amman, the capital city of Jordan. We enjoy a brief orientation tour, Then Back and Dinner is at our hotel in Amman.

 

DAY9: AMMAN: EXCURSION TO JERASH & AMMAN CITY TOUR

Breakfast at hotel: This morning we drive to the most well-preserved Roman city of Old Jerash, with its theatre with phenomenal acoustics, Temple of Artemis, Temple of Zeus, This afternoon we enjoy our city tour of Amman which includes the ruins of the ancient civilizations, including the Theatre and Forum for the Greco-Roman Empire, the Citadel, and the Roman Temple of Hercules. Our visit includes the National Archeological Museum. We return to Amman for the evening dinner in hotel.

 

DAY 10: AMMAN / MADABA / PETRA

Breakfast at hotel: We depart to Madaba (biblical Medeba) to visit the Greek Orthodox Church and the 6th century mosaics. We continue to Mount Nebo, the site where Moses saw the Promised Land and died. We continue to Petra for dinner and the evening dinner in hotel.

 

DAY 11: PETRA: VISIT OF THE SITE

Breakfast at hotel: We visit the Nabatean city of Petra, the Red Rock City, carved in colored sandstone and rediscovered in 1812. From the El Ji Post, we take an unforgettable journey as we continue on horseback, or walk through the famous Siq (natural gorge). We visit the Treasury, the Theater, Palace of Justice and other wonders to Petra for dinner and the evening dinner in hotel..

 

DAY 12: DEPARTURE FROM AMMAN / RETURN

Transfer to Amman Airport Back home.
